Description:
Making the “Studio Essentials Bag” was fun because I used a ticking stripe pattern. When you put blue stripes on white cotton cloth, you get a strong linear rhythm and visual interest. It still looks clean and simple.
Process:
When I made this bag, I thought about both how the stripes would look and how they would work in real life. The stripes line up naturally to make a smooth visual flow, and the piece’s simple drawstring design keeps it practical. The natural white cotton cord closure goes well with the general design and makes it easy to get in and out.
The personal signature, “MP” in red on a white patch with navy stitching detail, serves as both branding and a design element. This small detail breaks up the repetitive stripe pattern while adding a custom touch to an otherwise geometric design.
